Hey,
We have now finished all our Summer competitions and are back from nationals in Sorrento. We had a few days of training before the regatta was to begin to get used to the conditions again. We had mixed conditions sometimes sitting on shore for 2 hours waiting for the wind to come in and other days having a nice building seabreeze, but always lots of current. With the hot temperatures, the Race Committee pushed to get most of the races in early incase we were unable to race on days where there were no wind. As a result the regatta finished a day early, not that anyone was complaining. Mikky and i finished the regatta in 3rd place overall in the womens fleet, and once again were rewarded for training hard over the past year. We recieved Bronze medals and, as Zhik was the Regatta Sponsor, we also recieved some new hiking straps. Many people thought this was hilarious as it took us a whole day before Sail Melbourne to replace our hiking straps and it was probably the last thing we needed! Mikky will trade them in for some new boots!
During the regatta, the AGM was held, Mikky and i were elected as the media people for the 470 Class.
